Introduction[]

This is a minor-criticism of the game of this Wiki. Anything that I got annoyed at while playing through will be added to the list. Don't get me wrong, I do love this game a whole lot, and the good things outweigh the bad things, but some personal negativity has to be released from time to time.

The List[]

1. The Textures (Downer & Sexual)[]

I know a lot of fans love the weird and trippy textures that this game can offer, but I really just don't get it. I mean, sure it's weird and makes you question a lot of things, but it really doesn't feel dream-like at all in my opinion. I'm fine with the standard textures, and even the Kanji ones, but the downer and sexual textures are such an eyesore I just want to link to another place to stop my eyes from being harassed. The downer ones seem like they try too hard to be edgy and the sexual ones are probably the worst of the bunch, adding faces, lips, bodies of women and other sexually-related things to the walls and floors. If it's meant to be like, some fetish or sexual fantasy of the player, then it's still conveyed horribly because of the blocky textures and the fact that the giant head looks like a gay sumo wrestler.

2. The Sound Effects[]

The fact that I get annoyed with the sounds in this game less than other people still doesn't excuse the fact that I get annoyed with them. Every single time you move a step, the ground makes a sound. Sometimes it sounds good and not annoying, and sometimes you're in Happy Town. It drowns out nearly every other sound in the game and you can barely hear the music, which, unlike the footsteps, sounds good. Some dishonorable mentions are: The grass, the brown rocks, the Violence District docks, the Happy Town tiles, the Flesh Tunnels... Erm... Flesh floor? Not only are the footsteps grating, some other sounds are pretty annoying too, like the screaming sound that's heard a lot throughout the game (the one that the pterodactyl thing makes), a few music instruments (not the music itself), and the select strum sound which I'm probably the only person that doesn't like.
