These objects can be found right in front of the entrance to the Bright Moon Cottage in The Natural World. They can spawn in groups, while other times there may only be a single one.
The horses are about as fast as the player when running, and It's impossible to link with them, as they're not solid.
The horses will teleport to the other side of a cliff if they run into one.
