The Sun Faces Heave / The Sun Faces Bridge is an area with not much more than a translucent bridge attached to two large sun-like faces. The bridge is made of a thin layer of fog with some guard rails, and is situated above a floor that also has a layer of fog over it. The rest of the location is a black void.

The bridge leads directly into the two faces mouths, which are actually tunnels. The only way to link to another area in Sun Faces Heave is to walk into a tunnel or touch the railings on the bridge.

Appearance[]

There are two sun faces on either side of the bridge, which are similar in appearance to the sun seen in the ferris wheel cutscene. A single unlinkable object can be seen here: A spinning ring of sun rays, which can be seen only on B-type Days, moving along the bridge and sometimes stopping to spin around the sun face.

Due to how PlayStation 1 consoles handle rendering at a distance, the faces aren't visible until the player gets close enough.

Both faces have open rectangular mouths, parallel to the bridge. These mouths are actually tunnels, which the player can walk into. One of these tunnels leads into the train tunnel in Happy Town.

Reaction[]

The faces could be considered disturbing to some players, especially in downer or kanji textures, as it may give a slight jump-scare when a face suddenly pops in while the player is expecting to just see more of the bridge. This may also discourage the player to follow into the actual mouth itself. LSD: Dream Emulator contains several moments like these.

The unusual/disturbing look of the sun faces are comparable to the Giant Head or the Giant Baby Head, as these objects also suddenly appear in the same fashion as the sun faces.

Ways of accessing Sun Faces Heave[]

Linking with the base of a Ferris Wheel in Happy Town, with the stairs that the Trumpeters stand on, with the Black Wolf, and landing on (-4, 8) and (-3, 8) in The Chart are some of the known ways of accessing this location.

Trivia[]

  • Machine translators will misread the kanji as "The sun faces the heave".
